Carrie Underwood posted a throwback clip of a powerful performance she delivered at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Surrounded by the wooden pews and the vibrantly-colored stained glass windows of the legendary Mother Church, Underwood took the stage with a rendition of “How Great Thou Art,” from her gospel album that made its debut in March 2021.

The Grammy Award-winning country artist posted a snippet of the performance from her My Savior: Live From The Ryman special, which featured other stunning performances by Underwood. Underwood released her first-ever gospel album, My Savior, three years ago, including breathtaking recordings of classic church hymns on the 13-track project. My Savior also included “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” with CeCe Winans, “Bcause He Lives,” “Softly And Tenderly” and “Amazing Grace,” among others.

“This is an album I have always wanted to record and I’m thrilled to be able to bring these uplifting, inspirational songs to life in this special way,” Underwood previously said of My Savior. She posted a clip from the Ryman Auditorium special in celebration of the album’s three-year anniversary.

Underwood’s latest full-length project is the deluxe edition of Denim & Rhinestones, an 18-track collection that released in September 2023. Underwood expanded her country project with six new tracks, including “Out Of That Truck,” “Take Me Out” and a live recording of “She Don’t Know” from one of the stops on her “Denim & Rhinestones Tour.” She recently returned to Las Vegas for her residency, REFLECTION, where the Oklahoma-born artist has included an epic performance of “Something in the Water” and “How Great Thou Art,” which fellow country star Miranda Lambert said “will take you to church!
