Since today we are commemorating the 22 anniversary of the tragic events that unfolded on such a lovely April morning in 1995, when 168 of our Oklahoma City friends and neighbors were victims of hate, I wanted to share a message of love I received during a very special time I was allowed with then, First Lady Hillary R Clinton.
Politics aside, as I recall, we were still shaking and confused and I remember the conversation so warmly, as if our mother was holding us and tell us, everything would be okay. I was blessed to be given this opportunity and I will never forget it. It truly felt like our country, which had never seen a tragedy like this on our own soil before, told us we are in this together and love never fails!
Each year, we in Oklahoma City remember those who were lost and take pride in how we responded to evil, a response we now call the "Oklahoma Standard."
