Tim McGraw is a May baby! Celebrating 52 years around the sun today (May 1st), Tim has 5 little known facts that may shock and surprise you!
- Samuel Timothy "Tim" McGraw is the son of the famous baseball player Tug McGraw. Tug’s claim to fame comes from the pitcher’s mound as he was the star pitcher for the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies.
- Tim’s debut album flopped. His second record, ‘Not a Moment Too Soon’ came in the nick of time and kept him from losing his record deal by becoming the best-selling country album of 1994.
- As a freshman at Northeast Louisiana State University, Tim was enrolled in pre-law after seeing the film ‘And Justice for All,’ starring Al Pacino. As it turned out, Tim enjoyed parties more than classes which led him to buying a guitar at a local pawn shop. Fast forward less than a year, Tim was spotted gigging and singing in clubs.
- Today, Tim has some acting experience under his belt, but his first lead role was in the 2006 film ‘Flicka.’
- Taylor Swift's debut single, "Tim McGraw," is all about TIM MCGRAW. When Tim was co-hosting CMT's Hot 20 Countdown he was asked what he thought the first time he heard the tune. Tim replied, "It was awesome. I didn't know if I should take it as a compliment, or if I should feel old."
