Jason Aldean’s co-headlining show with Brooks & Dunn was suddenly canceled one day before the country stars were slated to take the stage at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

Aldean and Brooks & Dunn announced the concert at the iconic venue earlier this year. The event — which also included Nate Smith and RaeLynn in the lineup — was set to take place on Friday night (May 30). Another event scheduled for the venue this weekend, a Shakira concert set for Thursday night (May 29), was also dropped from the schedule. Officials said in a statement posted on Thursday:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn performances originally scheduled for May 29th and May 30th respectively at Fenway Park have been canceled. Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Though the statement did not offer a reason for the cancellation, the Boston Globe reported problems with the stage, and unnamed sources cited structural issues pinpointed during a routine check before the show to TMZ. Boston Inspectional Services reportedly opted to cancel the events. Boston-based 7NEWS also stated that sources said the events were canceled because of a safety issue, and stated there was not a security concern.

Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Smith and RaeLynn shared the statement on their respective Instagram stories; however, the artists have not shared additional information as of publication time. Aldean’s wife, Brittany Aldean, shared on her own story that she’s “SUPER BUMMED the Fenway show got canceled tomorrow. we were already on the plane so we figured we would just come and have a couple days in Boston,” she wrote with a photo that included herself, Aldean and the couple’s children.
