Blake Shelton is gearing up for his final season of The Voice before he ends his long run on the smash-hit competition series, maintaining his reign as the winningest coach throughout the show.

Shelton has won The Voice nine times, and if he wins season 23, he’ll make history as the first coach to reach the double-digit milestone with 10 victories, NBC noted. Still, however, Shelton will have to fight for that 10th win… Kelly Clarkson, for example, told NBC: “Will I go any easier on Blake knowing it's his last season? Do you know me at all? No! Do I hope secretly that he wins his last season? Maybe. But am I going to let him have it? No! I'm going to work for my Artists, and I hope they win!”

The country giant, an original coach, seems to be headed into his last season ready to go head-to-head against the other celebrity coaches (Clarkson, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan), he even shared a few pointers in the promo shared on Tuesday (January 24). The 30-second clip captures Shelton admit that he’s “tired” of Clarkson’s sassy jokes, note that Horan is “stealing my incredible artistic expression,” and making a bold statement, referring to himself: “I just want everybody here to know that there’s only one king of the voice. Only one.”

Shelton announced in October that season 23 would be his final season on The Voice. He admitted that he’d “been wrestling” with the decision for a while, but ultimately opted to end his run on the show. He said at that time, in part: “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. ...I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson (Daly) and every single ons of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!”

Shelton, who celebrated another Team Blake victory with Bryce Leatherwood winning in the Season 22 finale last month, previously opened up about wanting to spend more time with his family, including Stefani and his three stepsons. Shelton recently said in a recent interview with PEOPLE that he wants to bring his chair home when he exits The Voice: “I don't know if they're gonna offer that or not. I feel like they owe me a damn chair though. I mean, who else can sit in my chair? It's like the three bears — I don't want anybody else sitting in my chair. I'm gonna try to get that away from them. Maybe I'll have to buy it or something.”

The Voice is set to return on March 6 on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
