Carrie Underwood Details Upcoming HBO Max Christmas Special

Carrie Underwood has announced that her upcoming HBO Max holiday special will air on December 3.

My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood will feature Underwood performing traditional Christmas classics, along with some new tracks from her new Christmas album, My Gift. She will be accompanied by her band, as well as a live orchestra and choir, conducted by her longtime friend, Emmy Award-winning musical director Rickey Minor.

Underwood has also invited several special guests to join her, including John Legend who will be singing on the duet “Hallelujah,” an original song he co-wrote with Toby Gad, which appears on the My Gift album. Additionally, viewers will get a behind the scenes look at Underwood recording "Little Drummer Boy" with her five-year-old son, Isaiah.

"I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Playtone and HBO Max to bring My Gift to life," Underwood said in a statement. "Just like the album, I hope this special will help bring some much-needed joy and become part of the soundtrack to people’s holiday festivities this year as it streams throughout the season and beyond."

The HBO Max Original special will be executive produced by Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks for Playtone, along with Underwood and her manager, Ann Edelblute. "This special is an homage to the classic, timeless holiday specials, highlighting the vocal gifts of the incomparable Carrie Underwood," Goetzman said. "She’s an artist who transcends genres and shows here why audiences love her around the world."

My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood will be available to stream starting Thursday, December 3 on HBO Max. Underwood's new Christmas album, My Gift, is available to purchase now.
