While many fans-and even some country music stars-were outraged to learn that Garth Brooks lip-synced his way through his CMA Awards performance last week, others were ready to show their support for the music veteran.

Soon after admitting he lip-synced "Ask Me How I Know," blaming his grueling tour schedule for his strained voice, Anderson East and girlfriend Miranda Lambert expressed their dismay on Instagram. But now, several of Garth's industry friends have come to his defense, including Randy Travis. The country crooner tweeted two supportive messages to Garth over the weekend.



Randy encouraged others to empathize with the performer. "Our family in music should be the 1st to understand," he wrote. "After you walk in our shoes, get back to us!"

Blake Shelton also reached out through Twitter."I still love you #hero," he wrote.
