TMSG: 6x Cancer Survivor Gets Parade After Missing Chance To Ride On Float

51-year-old and six-time cancer survivor Stacy Kimmel was diagnosed with brain cancer five years ago. At the time, she was given only two months to live. Eight years before, doctors discovered that Kimmel had breast cancer.

Kimmel would go on to battle the reoccurring disease for years through extensive surgeries and treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation. Kimmel told NBC LA, "I want to be around for my kid. I want her to have memories of having a mom."

Her inspiring story was one of the reasons Kimmel was selected to ride on City of Hope's float in the Rose Parade in California on January 1st. But, when the big day came, Kimmel couldn't participate due to treatment effects during her seventh bout with cancer.

That's when Foundation for Living Beauty stepped in. The group new this was a bucket list moment for Kimmel, so the Living Beauty community rallied to give Stacy her own unforgettable parade. In coordination with the Pasadena Police Department and local businesses, Kimmel was driven down the parade's route, just as should have during the actual day.

Kimmel was seen wearing a tiara, holding a bouquet of flowers, while being driven around in a blue Ford Mustang with her own police escort.
