Altus Police Investigate Shootings

Posted July 22nd, 2014 @ 3:23pm

Altus police say someone shot out the back window of a vehicle Monday night in the 1200 block of West Davis. No one was injured. An empty shell casing was found at the scene. Police transported one man to the police department where he was questioned and later released. Police Chief Tim Murphy says it's one of several shooting cases that police are actively investigating and he believes they are connected by gang-related activity. He says residents in the area are reluctant to cooperate with law enforcement for fear of retaliation and although frustrating to police, it's understandable. He's encouraging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (580) 482-TIPS.
